Mission Statement:
The Simon’s Rock Snapper Swim Team exists to provide a comprehensive team experience in
a supportive, competitive, and enjoyable atmosphere.
Goals:
To allow as many young athletes as possible to be involved in, enjoy, and continue to progress in the sport of competitive
swimming. To help young swimmers improve their skills and excel in their swimming career. To facilitate growth as individuals and
encourage teamwork and a healthy and fun environment for everyone involved. To continue growing and improving as a team in the
Western Massachusetts YMCA League and USA Swimming League throughout New England and the nation.
Philosophy:
Athletes in every group are an important part of the Snapper Swim Team and will be encouraged to challenge
themselves and become better, faster, stronger swimmers through training and goal setting that is appropriate to the individual.
Faciltiy:
The Snappers practice and have home swim meets in the eight lane, 25 yards, swimming pool at the Kilpartic Athletic Center. The Center is a 53,000-square-foot athletic complex with squash courts, a basketball court, an elevated track, and a swimming pool was completed in 1999. Children enrolled in the team
may utilize the Member Locker Rooms
directly before and after their program, without
the direct supervision of an adult.
